At Samson’s Whitetail Mountain, we offer a variety of lodging options designed to accommodate hunting groups, families, and guests while preserving the rustic charm of our 800-acre property. Our flagship Lodge features seven bedrooms and six bathrooms, making it ideal for large groups looking to gather, relax, and share stories. The Lakeside Cabin sits right at the water’s edge and includes three bedrooms and two baths, offering peaceful views and easy access to nature. The 4-Room Cabin, located beside the Lodge atop the hill, provides four bedrooms and four baths for added privacy. Additional options include the Lake Cottage/Treehouse tucked into the woods by the lake, and our new Shipshe Cabin just off the main road, perfect for smaller groups.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to fish the lake, explore uncle Rod’s cabin, and fire up the grill. Enjoy being surrounded by wildlife in the outdoor seating areas and keep warm by the fire pits. You are free to come and go from the Mountain to enjoy the rest of Southern Illinois as you please. (just make sure the gate closes behind you)

7 bedrooms - 14 beds - 6 baths
The lodge sets at the top Samson’s Whitetail Mountain, with close proximity to Shawnee National Forest for zip lining, rock climbing, hiking, Tunnel Hill State Trail or Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. You can relax on the beautiful porch or balcony and watch herds of elk and whitetail deer, enjoy the view of the lake or just bask in the gorgeous sunset.

Four Room Cabin
4 bedrooms - 8 beds - 4 baths
This rustic style 4 bedroom cabin is nestled in the beautiful hills of Shawnee National Forest. It is located behind the private gates at Samson’s Whitetail Mountain hunting lodge and offers some amazing views of the grounds.

Treehouse Cabin
3 bedrooms - 3 beds - 1 baths
This is our treehouse, we have redone the porch and added a new covered deck. It’s small space but allows for a lot of peace and quiet. Perfect for the couples getaway or even just a nice little family vacation.
The treehouse has 20 stairs to it, equipped little kitchen and a downstairs bedroom with a king size bed. The other bedrooms are upstairs each with queen beds.
The bathroom is downstairs/ equipped with your shampoo/conditioner/towels. The heating source for the treehouse is a propane heater on the back wall as well as a AC/HEAT unit on wall. We also have space heaters provided.

Lakeside Cabin
3 bedrooms - 3 beds - 1 baths
The Lakeside Cabin is 3 bedroom, 1 full bathroom. There is WiFi in the cabin as well as Roku TV. The cabin is heated by a wall heating unit one electric and other propane. We also have space heaters available in the cabin if needed. Cabin includes a back porch that over looks the lake, as well as access to a large community dock to fish from. The cabin also has a BBQ grill, fire pit, outside seating are provided as well as firewood.
Please do not walk in the woods stay on the gravel roads, you are welcome to walk around the lake.

Shipshe Cabin
2 bedrooms - 2 beds - 1 baths
Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. The little cabin is just off the main road, tugged back in trees, perfect for a sweet couple or family of 4 to enjoy nature, across from the lake. Tabacco free unit. Please no smoking or vaping inside the units or within 100ft of the front or back door.
